Kotelo II was the second subproject of the Kotelo concept. Kotelo II was carried out during the summer of 2025 in Tampere, Finland. The project's focus was to observe how we think and interact with urban plants. Some of them are hated – some are loved, some are thought to grow in the wrong places – some are wanted to grow more. The project had two parts: a) conducting material research by myself, and b) organising two free seedbomb workshops at Tammelan Tori square. The main question that both parts discussed was: “Where and which plants should grow in urban areas?”
During the Kotelo II, the Kotelo concept logo also got updated. Above are two versions of the logo that can be used, depending on whether the 'hands-on making' or the 'pupa' (in Finnish 'kotelo') is wanted to be highlighted.
Material research was conducted by using mostly grass and different parts of dandelions.
