The ‘Plup’ lamp is a concept for a design competition organized by Innolux / Innojok Oy, in which the assignment was to design a daylight lamp.
The core idea behind the lamp is that it creates physical encounters between humans and the world we live in. The lamp invites its user to physically adjust the position of light source, and in this way, to change the atmosphere of the space.
The lampshade is made from glass. The base, as well as the handle, would be made from hardwood such as ash. The wood as a material for handle is important, since it provokes positive and warm feelings when touched.
The ‘Plup’ lamp is designed in first hand to be a wall lamp. However, there could be possibilities to develop it into a whole lamp-family with table-, floor- and ceiling lamps.
