Tappiset is a set of ceramic objects designed for brewing coffee – consisting of a cup and a pour-over dripper. The first Tappi cups were developed and produced in 2017, and for the Protoshop Design Competition 2025, the collection was completed with the addition of the Tappi pour-over dripper concept. Together, they form the Tappiset concept.
The design language is based on simple yet pleasant shapes, combined with a playful peg-like handle that repeats in different parts of the products. This playful detail invites focus on the coffee-making and drinking ritual – making it both mindful and enjoyable.
Tappi cups have been used in both home environments and in a café. In each setting, the peg handles have proven to be comfortable and durable, even though their unconventional shape initially raises questions about usability. However, user feedback has shown that the design offers a secure and pleasant grip.
